Hello Dear Reader
Hello everyone! My name is Ashley Michael Hyatt. I’m an American,
originally from the Los Angeles area, but I’ve spent so much time in various
parts of the U.S. that it’s hard to say where home is. Mostly I grew up in a
small but prosperous suburb of L.A. called Cerritos.
From an early age, I wanted to come to Japan. One day, while rifling through
my father’s books I came across a copy of Akutagawa Ryunosuke’s Rashomon.
It opened the door to the world of Japan. I studied Japanese for about a year
and resolved to one day visit this mysterious land.
