Kagoshima City Aquarium



The seas around Kagoshima are a treasure trove of various creatures. In the waterfront area overlooking Sakurajima，there is an aquarium with Japan’s largest-scale water tank where big and small fish such as a whale shark swim.

Great Lava Field



At the foot of Mt. Sakurajima lies the Great Lava Field, which was shaped by eruptions from the volcano towering above it. Standing in these fields you can vividly sense the energy and dynamic power of the earth and nature.

Tenmonkan



The busiest streets in southern Kyushu. Department stores, boutiques，cafes restaurants are located in this area. At night the area comes to life with the neon lights of bars and pubs.

Furusato Hot spring in Sakurajima



This hot spring resort has hotels equipped with pools and outdoor baths overlooking the ocean.

Sengan-en


Sengan-en was constructed in 1658 as the villa for Mitsuhisa Shimadzu, 19th lord of the Shimadzu Family. This is one of the most famous gardens in Japan renowned for its borrowed scenery where elements such as Mt. Sakurajima and Kinko Bay are nicely incorporated into the garden.
