Volcanic white ash called Yoshida Shirasu was deposited in Kagoshima Prefecture by a major volcanic eruption that occurred approximately 400,000 to 800,000 years ago. This facial soap is made from the finest shirasu, which contains only natural mineral elements; impurities have been removed over tens of thousands of years. The soap's dense lather removes dirt, while its natural ingredients penetrate the skin, leaving it bright, moist, and healthy.
The main ingredient of this volcanic white ash is silica, a mineral essential for healthy, beautiful skin. Silica aids the efficient production of collagen, vitamins, and calcium to combat signs of aging in skin, nails, and hair.
Yoshida Shirasu is a particularly high-quality type of shirasu due to its fine texture and dirt-absorption properties. It is the only type of shirasu registered in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary (ICID). In consideration of the environment, domestically produced bamboo paper is used for 100% of the packaging of this soap.
The use of bamboo as a raw material for paper can help solve social issues, including damage to environments of secondary forest and arable land between foothills and villages (satoyama) if left unchecked. If you're looking for a souvenir you can use every day from the active volcano Sakurajima how about this soap?
