Usuki Shopping Street

This is the recommended shopping area to visit from Marine Port Kagoshima.

Usuki Shopping Street is a 25-minute walk from Marine Port Kagoshima. Its lively atmosphere, numerous small stores, and local shrine make it a great place to stroll around. It's renowned for high-quality ramen too, so there are plenty of places to eat and drink. From Usuki, it's possible to explore other parts of downtown using the Wakita stop of the city tram network, and even travel onward to Ibusuki and Chiran.

Machi-no-eki Usuki

This public exchange center in Cosumo Town near the Wakita stop on the tram network has an information desk  to support international travelers. 

Shimmei Shrine

Believers pray for good commerce at this shrine, which is dedicated to Ebisu, the patron of tradesmen. The Ebisu festival is held annually on January 10.

Ta-no-kan-sa: The guardian deity of rice cultivation

There were once many rice paddies here. Now, there are  some remains of stone statues to Ta-no-kan-sa.
