Amami Oshima / Naze Port

Amami-Oshima and Tokunoshima have been added to the Unesco World Heritage list as on 26th July, 2021. The string of islands was recommended for its diverse ecosystem of planet and animal species that are unique to the region.

Port details

This port is located in the northwestern part of Amami Oshima, with regular ferry services that serve Kagoshima City, Okinawa, the Amami Islands, and the Hanshin area (Kansai). In April 2004, a berth for cruise ships of up to 80,000 tons was opened in the Nagahama area, which is expected to drive more tourism to the recently recognized World Natural Heritage islands.
