Miyage-Yokocho, located in front of the ticket gates of JR Kagoshima Chuo Station, has a wide range of shops selling various local souvenirs. You can find karukan (a steamed sweet bun), satsuma-age (deep-fried fish patties), Satsuma shochu (a spirit distilled from sweet potatoes), and much more.
Next to Miyage-Yokocho is Gourmet-Yokocho, where a line of restaurants offers a treasure trove of the gourmet foods that Kagoshima is famous for. Visitors can enjoy both shopping and dining here.
