This museum offers all you need to know about Yakushima. Starting with the Yakusugi, the Japanese cedars aged 1,000 years or more, learn about the plants and other vegetation that make up the forests on this unique island, through a range of displays, dioramas, videos, and more.

Yakushima Visit Certificate

As a special benefit, visitors to the Yakusugi Museum who have contributed to the Yakushima Mountain Environmental Conservation Fund will receive a “Yakushima Visit Certificate.”

Visitors who do not enter the museum may also purchase the certificate for ¥200 per copy, (including tax.)

The certificate is available exclusively at the Yakusugi Museum. Learning about yakusugi cedar trees at the museum before your hike will make your trekking experience even more enjoyable.
