One of the closest stations to the sea in Japan, it faces Kagoshima Bay (Kinko Bay), offering a magnificent up-close view of Sakurajima.

The station building's design harmonizes well with the beautiful natural surroundings, further enhancing the ideal location.  
Located between Kagoshima Station and Ryugamizu Station on the JR Nippo Main Line,  Sengan-en Station is easily accessible.
Local trains stop once or twice an hour, and it is only two stops or about 10 minutes' duration to Kagoshima Chuo Station. The adult fare is 240 yen, making it cheap and easy to use.

The area around Sengan-en Station features many places with living history and culture.
The Iso area, located near the Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution, which are registered as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites, is dotted with many tourist attractions, including the traditional Japanese landscape garden Sengan-en and Iso Beach. It is a delightful area to explore.

In addition, you can enjoy local specialties such as jambo-mochi (a rice cake with sweet sauce) or visit a café with a unique atmosphere at the Iso Beach House. There is also a Starbucks store adjacent to the Shimadzu Satsuma Kiriko Gallery Shop (Iso Kogeikan). 
The area is the perfect place to relax, with views of Sakurajima across Kinko Bay.

Train tickets can be purchased with cash, transportation IC cards (SUGOCA, Suica, PASMO, etc.), or electronic money.

JR Sengan-en Station offers spectacular views, history, and relaxation. Make sure you visit here and experience its charm for yourself.
The sight of Sakurajima at sunset is especially beautiful, just like a painting, and is a must for visitors.
