The Kanoya Summer Festival
is one of the city’s biggest seasonal highlights. The festival’s main attraction, the Sō-odori (Grand Dance), fills the streets with excitement as more than 2,000 dancers in yukata march through the city to the lively Hanya-bushi, a tune rich with a cheerful, southern atmosphere.
